Not as bad as I feared.

I was very worried before I went but it was not as bad as some people made out. There were some pluses!

Never again

How this hotel was awarded a 4* rating I'LL NEVER KNOW. The rooms were fine and well kept. The resturant had dirty tables, not enough food if you were 1/2 hour after opening, one morning there was mould on the bread, and we were given (we paid) a bottle of wine with the glass top broken!! The loungers around the pool many were broken and insufficient to go round, Also you had to pay 5lv for an umberella. The front of desk staff were not at all friendly, and never smiled.

A great time in Sunny Beach

Stayed at the Pomorie Hotel for 1 week all inclusive at a cost of £530 for two ( 265. 00) each including flights. Great pool. average but plenty of food but best of all was the all inclusive drinks. had we not had all inclusive, the drinks alone would have been in excess of £200, so what a bargain. Excellent service from Co-op Travel (Vanessa )

Great Holiday in Sunny Beach

Stayed in the hotel Fenix, very clean, helpful, friendly staff. Pleased we did just bed and breakfast as food much nicer in the bars and very cheap. Lovely resort, would definitely go back again.

DIY within Package Holiday

Our first package holiday and only visit to Bulgaria, alarming to pay up front and then be asked for money for everything constantly - seats with leg room, food/drink on plane, earphones, then in hotel: use of safe, table tennis, internet, drinking water, and on the one excursion we booked and paid for : money at the first stop for the toilet, for a coffee, for the chair lift ride, for any beverage whatsoever with the so-called-all-inclusive meal and arrangements. BUT - Bulgaria offered the most wonderful inexpensive regular transport to lovely cities and towns up and down the Black Sea Coast so we adventured every day - new sights, new beaches, new food, delightful houses, streets, people helpful and patient, a taste of some of Bulgaria outside the resort. The weather was magnificent, there were no obvious problem with people begging or pestering, no evidence of street aggression or petty crime, no alarming bugs and creepy-crawlies, and some of the UNESCO and other Heritage zones were beautifully preserved, old Thracian and Roman excavations, charming museums. We needed to use our initiative but the result was very rewarding, the fresh fruit was everywhere and food bland but fresh and enjoyable.

Average Sunny Beach

else, it reminds me of Blackpool 15 or 16 years ago, cheap knock off T Shirts, watch shops and not really much else, found it sleazy, tacky, dirty. We were bored to death after four days and did not find either the food or drink cheap only the Bulgarian beer was really cheap, and it was not up to much, so any foreign beers were more expensive than over here, food is not too bad but you have to look for best.
We also traveled into Nessebur, which was much better, and if we had been based here we would have enjoyed the holiday more, better food, more choice of shops, and the beach was better.
Would not put people off going to Sunny Beach because all people are different but we will not and shall not be returning.
Balkan Holidays on the other hand, we had heard bad reviews for them but found them one of the best travel companies I have ever traveled with and although we won't be going to Sunny Beach again we would travel with Balkan again

Sunny beach was great!

Sunny beach was great! There was plenty of things to do for all ages. The beach was beautiful, golden sand and clear blue sea. There was a wide range of bars and restaurants to choose from.
