Masai Mara
The masai mara has the most beautiful scenery and what a fantastic way to do it on a open top Land Rover with a private guide who knew everything and anything. The safari park covers miles and miles and watching the sun rise whilst observing lions and elephants in their own surroundings is one I will never forget. Evening is also a magical time when the sun is seting over the plain and you take a slow drive back through looking at all the big five enjoying their everyday life and not batting an eyelid as our cameras are trying to catch these moments.
On return we stopped in Nairobi. A big city with a fast pace. Good for a stopover. I have to mention the carnivore resturant, set in tropical gardens this resturant was a fantastic experience. There is no menu but waiters come round with all different meats which you can try. Fabulous atmosphere with singing and dancing all going on around you and when you can't handle eating anymore wonderful meat you simply just hold up a white flag to say you have surrended!!! Definitely worth a visit.
